🍷 Richard Stávek: Natural Wine from Moravia Rooted in Peasant Terroir, Experimentation, and Living Tradition

Based in Němčičky, South Moravia (Czech Republic), Richard Stávek is one of the pioneers of natural winemaking in his country. Active since the 1990s, he farms about 4.5 hectares of sandy-soil vineyards within a diversified farm where he also produces goat cheese, honey, fruits, and vegetables. His farming is organic and biodynamic, using rare and indigenous Czech grape varieties. Winemaking is fully natural: long macerations, native yeasts, no filtration, no added sulfites. Many wines are field blends, aged in barrels made from local acacia or oak, reflecting a holistic approach to land and life.
