🍷 Kolonia 52: Volcanic Natural Wine and Hungarian Craftsmanship

Kolonia 52 is a natural wine estate located on Szent György-hegy, a volcanic hill above Lake Balaton’s north shore in Hungary. Founded by Annamária Török and Attila Francisti, the estate farms about 3 hectares organically and biodynamically (in certification), on basalt, limestone, sand, and clay soils. Grapes include Pinot Noir, Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Furmint, and Kéknyelű. Winemaking is fully manual, with spontaneous fermentation, aging on lees in neutral oak or amphora, no pumping, no sulfur added. Labels are inspired by a local folk tale and reflect the artisanal spirit of the winery.
