La Grange de l´Oncle Charles
🍷 La Grange de l’Oncle Charles: Alsatian Natural Wine Rooted in Terroir and Poetry
Founded in 2014 in Ostheim, Alsace, by Jérôme François, La Grange de l’Oncle Charles is a small, artisanal natural wine estate. A former cabinetmaker, Jérôme took over his grandfather’s vines and settled in his great-uncle Charles’s barn—hence the name. Today, he farms over 7 hectares across Ammerschwihr, Zellenberg, Kaysersberg, and Ribeauvillé. The estate is certified organic and follows biodynamic principles, with horse-drawn plowing, mixed planting, and Ouessant sheep grazing. Wines are made naturally, without additives or sulfur, in a troglodyte cellar. Each cuvée is a tribute to life and Alsatian soil.
