🍷 Čotar Vina: Natural Wines from Slovenia’s Karst Region

Čotar Vina is located in Komen, in Slovenia’s Karst plateau, just a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. Founded by Branko Čotar and his son Vasja in 1993, this family-run estate cultivates 7 hectares on iron-rich limestone soils known as “red earth.” Indigenous varieties like Teran and Vitovska are central to their production, alongside Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malvasia Istriana.

🌿 Philosophy

• Natural farming with no chemical inputs.

• Spontaneous fermentation in underground cellars, no selected yeasts or added sulfur.

• Long aging in oak barrels, unfiltered.
